Ailurophobia is hailing from Geneva, Switzerland.
Since 2021, the band straddles the line between modern death metal and grindcore, blending the technical complexity of the former with the visceral energy of the latter.

Unlike traditional death metal, the compositions are not built around clear melodic lines, leads, or solos. Instead, the riffs deliberately focus on interwoven rhythmic and chromatic variations, giving the music a particular sonic density.
The rhythm section emphasize syncopation and offbeat accents, creating a dynamic sense of groove.

Avoiding progressive structures, the songs follow a non-linear path, with sections colliding with deliberate suddenness. This more chaotic and sometimes dissonant approach maintains a constant sense of tension and intensity.

Lyrically, Ailurophobia draws from grindcore and punk traditions, using sarcasm and irony to critique humanity’s absurd relationship with the living world. Alongside these themes, some tracks explore a more experimental approach with poetic or offbeat storytelling (full lyrics are available on the band’s Bandcamp page).
